Grace Community Church Ministries

Grace Community Church for over 70 years has been "The church in the heart of the community with the community in its heart". The various groups and activities of Grace Community Church help members and friends who attend to connect with God in a way that allows God to accomplish His purpose in their lives. The following ministering groups and ministering events are available to all.

Grace Community Church is an active community oriented church that hosts a variety of ministering groups, one that is just right for you! Some of our ministries include:

  • Music Ministry - The members of Grace Community Church are presented meditation and inspirational music by the Silver Lining Singers and our musicians who provide piano and organ music each week. On special occasions, the congregation hears its members play drums, flutes, violins, cello pieces and quite often solos on the harmonica. A Rogers pipe organ was installed and began to sing in time for Christmas 2001. The music of this instrument creates beautiful sounds for the Grace Community Church family. Our most recent addition to our instrumentation is a beautiful hand crafted Estonia Grand Piano. These two outstanding instruments will work together to bring even more beautiful sounds to the Grace Community Church sanctuary.
  • Grace Notes - The youth of Grace Community Church have formed a bell ringing choir called Grace Notes. This group provides beautiful music and is open to any interested young person. Bev Langmaid is the contact person and she can be contacted through the church office at 293-2018.
  • Men's Ministries - Men of Integrity and Grace (MIGs) is a fellowship of the men of Grace Community Church. They meet for breakfast the last Saturday of each month and, on several Sundays throughout the year, provide a breakfast for the entire congregation.
  • Unretired Renovators - This group of handy men from Grace Community Church meet weekly to take care of mostly minor and some major repairs, improvements, and maintenance to the church facility. They have formed a fellowship that begins as they gather to do their work and continues until they meet again the next week.
  • Women's Ministries - The Women's Association has been a part of Grace Community Church almost since the beginning. It was first known as the Ladies Aid, but is now know as the Women's Association. They meet on the second Wednesday of each month from September through May. The purpose of the Women's Association is to cultivate spiritual lives and promote friendliness. One of their highest attended events is the May Breakfast.
  • Ladies Circles - Interested members of the Women's Association are divided into circles and meet the first Wednesday of each month between September and May. They gather in the homes of the members for spiritual enlightenment and fellowship.
  • Graceful Ladies of Grace - This group of single women from Grace Community Church meets the fourth Wednesday of each month to share fellowship and learn more about one another. Each person brings her own brown bag lunch. This loosely structured group has brought many of these ladies into closer fellowship with each other.
  • Children and Youth Ministries - Grace Community Church offers children Sunday School to bring together the boys and girls of the congregation in a healthy, learning environment. The children are taught Bible stories and Christian life situation lessons.
  • Grace Christian Academy - The fall of 2000 brought to our grounds Grace Christian Academy. The Academy is a mission of Grace Community Church. It is a Nevada licensed private school and includes grades, kindergarten through sixth. The Academy continues to grow each year and is responsible for bringing a well-rounded Christian education to its students.
  • Confirmation Class - This class is taught annually by the pastor to confirm the individuals belief in Christ and to prepare the youth for church membership and service.
  • High School Youth Group - This group of young people is growing and becoming a vital organization of Grace Community Church. This group of young men and women are filled with talent and enthusiasm. They are active in the Sunday evening Contemporary Worship in Fox Hall and the following Youth Fellowship Meeting. Contact person for High School Youth is Chris Ward, she can be contacted through the church office at 293-2018.
  • Prayer Ministries - The Prayer Group of dedicated Christians meets weekly to pray together for members and non-members of Grace Community Church. Names may be placed on the prayer list by contacting a member of the group or by contacting the church office. This group meets on Wednesday at 9 AM.

  • Friday Folders - Dedicated ladies come to Grace Community Church each Friday morning to fold the bulletins for Sunday worship. The group is growing and so is the workload. They make themselves available to do many tasks needed to make the worship service a more complete and satisfying experience.

Grace Community Church is part of the community and participates in numerous events, and makes its facilities available to various organizations for community events. The following list is annual events:

  • Sunday Fellowship - This is a gathering of the congregation in the courtyard following the 9:30 AM worship service each Sunday. Coffee, punch, and lemonade are served with pastries provided by a local supermarket. This is a wonderful opportunity for Grace Community Church family members to connect with one another.
  • Covered Dish Dinner - The all church potluck dinner called Covered Dish Dinner is a favorite time of fellowship for the entire congregation of Grace Community Church. Everyone brings their own table service and a dish to share. Sometimes there are some very interesting combinations and no one ever goes home hungry. This occurs once a month.
  • Church Birthday - This event features cakes for each month and is celebrated in the Grace Community Church dining room by all the congregation. Each person goes to month of their birth. It is an annual event.
  • Pancake Breakfast on Easter Sunday Morning - The Men of Integrity and Grace provide a pancake breakfast for the congregation before the Easter Sunday morning service.
  • Pentecostal Picnic - This is another time of celebration and family gathering. Immediately following worship on Pentecost Sunday, preparations begin for a family picnic in the courtyard. Grace Community Church provides the burgers and brats and attendees provide the rest of the food.
  • Bible School - In late summer the church provides Bible School for the children. The High School Youth give their energy and talent to make this a wonderful time of fun and learning.
  • Pancake Breakfast for Art in the Park Event - This breakfast is prepared by the Men of Integrity and Grace for the congregation and guests before the Sunday service on Boulder City's Art In The Park Sunday.
  • County Store - The all church bazaar was established by the Ladies Aid Society in 1947. This event is the annual fall fund-raiser and community fellowship building event.
  • Ice Cream Social - The congregation of Grace Community Church welcomes the Ice Cream Social in the courtyard.
  • Christmas Parade - Grace Community Church enters a float in the Boulder City Christmas Parade. We encourage our youthful congregation members to become involved in this event by assisting in the creation and decorating of the float and by riding on the float during the parade.
  • Living Nativity - Each year members of Grace Community Church dress in Biblical costume and portray the nativity scene in front of the church. Following the nativity members are served hot chocolate and cookies. By presenting this for several evenings, many members are able to participate.
